What antennas come with devices?
Micro:
5dbi 600MHz to 6MHz (6GHz). For sub 600MHz a separate antenna will need to purchased. Anything from 1MHz to 599MHz. The antenna is about the same size as the 12dbi Dual Band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi 6 Mesh antennas.
Any antenna can be added for the SDR component which has a 1 MHz to 6 GHz operating frequency range, as long as the antenna specifications fall within that range AND the connector is correct.
Link:
Wi-Fi 6 enabled antenna
WiFi 6 - 4x4 - Antennas = qty. 4 x 5dBi
(2 x 2.4Ghz & 2 x 5Ghz)
Link Pro:
Wi-Fi 6 enabled antenna
WiFi 6 - 4x4 - Antennas = qty. 4 x 5dBi
(2 x 2.4Ghz & 2 x 5Ghz)
Are the antenna rated for outdoor or indoor usage?
Currently, all devices that are for sale and antennas are rated for indoor use only. Future devices and/or enclosures for outdoor rating are being discussed for potential roadmap additions.
Can you add an antenna to a device for more coverage?
You can add any antenna you would like for your purpose for the SDR which has a 1 MHz to 6 GHz operating frequency range. As long as the antenna specifications fall within that range AND the connector is correct then you can add any antenna you'd like. Keep in mind that receiving (RX) is one thing, but transmitting (TX) is regulated. Depending on the frequency of course.
The antenna chosen could vary widely and that would be the driver of the coverage results combined with the frequency or frequency range you were targeting. The Micro is the only SDR device and it comes with a 5dbi 600MHz to 6GHz Antenna that is about the same size as the 12dbi Dual Band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi 6 Mesh antennas.
Do you need special antennas for the Micros to communicate with each other?
The Micro will come with an antenna that has a range of 600MHz to 6000MHz (6GHz) for the SDR. For sub 600MHz a separate antenna will need to be purchased. Meaning anything from 1MHz to 599MHz. We don’t provide an antenna for that frequency range.
Can I switch the antenna for better and wider coverage?
We only sell FCC (and other regulatory agencies) compliant antennas that match with the devices.
We cannot recommend or suggest antennas, cabling, and other RF equipment that fall outside the compliant limitations set forth by the FCC and other regulatory agencies for permissible transmit levels of the equipment.
What's the benefit of having more storage space?
Short answer: More storage means more potential earnings and more data across the network. With more device data, this means more earning potential.
Long answer: More storage will provide additional capabilities to store and run other applications, including other crypto-related applications.
- More storage is always more desirable unless you don't need for what you are trying to achieve. Examples would be for adding more storage so you can share that resource back to the network for earnings via others using that storage for running applications. Another is using extra storage to earn other crypto types such as those that reward based on storage shares. Another is using onsite processing for AI data and applications that can range from smart cities, health care, manufacturing, warehousing, and any other deployment workloads.
- Adding more storage will give you the ability to share that given resource on the network with others so they can utilize your storage space to run applications, which you will earn RVS for sharing and usage.
- Extra storage can be used to earn other crypto types such as those that reward based on storage shares.
- Allows capability of using onsite processing for AI data and applications. This can range from smart cities, health care, manufacturing, warehousing, and any other deployment workloads.
Will the Link Pro require any additional equipment for satellite/cellular backhaul?
RevoFi is currently working on being able to provide the mPCIe modules and SIM cards via direct relationships with Mobile & Satellite Network Operators. We would like to be able to offer their modules and SIM cards that correlate to the region service is needed and the backhaul requirements for bandwidth. RevoFi does not intend to manufacture these but we do plan to re-sell them from the operators. We would offer during checkout ideally in the future. For all current owners of devices, we plan to add these products to the site as individually available items as they become available. This will also include satellite and cellular antenna options that correlate to the module and service.
Additionally, there are modules and SIM cards that are already available on the open market. These can be used in the device as long the form factor and interface correlate. However, we will not be able to guarantee compatibility with untested modules and SIM cards that are not RevoFi certified. Which is a fancy way of saying we got it to work with our device by bribing a ton of engineers with superb coffee.
What is the use of a CSI camera listed in the I/O availability?
It does not come with any additional hardware. It has I/O that allows users to leverage its additional capabilities. Just like how you can expand the capabilities of a PC you can also do so with the RevoFi devices when available per device.
Example: Convenience stores can attach a specific machine vision camera to leverage AI capabilities for autonomous inventory to replace point of sale systems, payment processors, and institutional banking systems.
What power supply do we support?
Plug type(s) we support for devices:
B, E, F, G, I, J
The World Map visualizes the spread of the different plug types in use around the world. Red countries use type A & B plugs, the deep blue ones use types C & E/F (which are compatible with each other), brown countries use type D, sea-green countries use the British type G plug, pink colored Israel uses types C & H, yellow countries use the Australian type I system, black countries use C & J, orange countries use types C & L, purple countries use the South African type M, pale blue countries use the international type N and moss-green Thailand uses types C & O. Keep in mind that this is a simplified overview showing only the most common plug type, but sometimes multiple systems are used within one and the same country. To learn more visit the "Power Supply Plug Type Selection" tab under any product selection.
NOTE:
- It is NOT recommended using the device without a grounded plug and outlet.
- RevoFi is NOT responsible for incorrect selection or improper use of plug types or any related damage or injury.
